Our Philosophy

We believe that all children must have the opportunity to develop their connection with the natural world.

Over the years we have watched young children grow into activists for diversity and sustainability, all beginning with the joy found in connection with our Earth in early childhood, followed by their advanced development through learning and playing outdoors.

This spiritual, intellectual, and developmental growth inspired ECE founder Karen in 2020 to share these methodologies to as many children as possible. Tomorrow’s leaders will need a solid foundation in the natural world.

Our Philosophy

Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.

― Socrates

Climate change threatens every part of the planet. It’s a global problem that requires global cooperation.

EarthConnect Education supported our small school in achieving our goal of creating a new garden to improve the biodiversity of our grounds. Karen’s expertise was invaluable in helping us determine the best position for our garden and then to help us select the best plants to suit our school environment. We highly recommend Karen’s support in getting projects like this off the ground...or in the ground in our case.

Recently we had the pleasure of having Karen Hope from EarthConnect Education share her skills with us at Lorien Novalis Little Kindy in Dural. Karen and the children collected a variety of leaves from our garden which she then used to dye felt, to be later sewed into little purses as gifts for mothers’ day. The children were totally engaged in the process at each step, and Karen’s skills of supporting learning and development were evident throughout ... The project helped instil a sense of awe and wonder at the beauty of nature, and the children were so delighted to see how the leaf prints magically appeared on the felt. I would wholeheartedly recommend Karen to any educational service to work with the children, bringing them a deep understanding and awakened connection to our environment around us.
